Swinging into fun: Hawkins Insulation Macmillan Cancer Support Golf Day
13th September 2025Fore! The Hawkins Insulation Macmillan Cancer Support Golf Day was a brilliant mix of sunshine, laughter, and a few questionable swings.
From the first tee-off to the final putt, teams enjoyed plenty of friendly competition, good banter, and a chance to relax off the clock. Whether chasing birdies or just avoiding the bunkers, it was a day to remember – proving once again that golf is best played with great company.
On Friday 5th September, the sun was shining, the clubs were swinging, and 64 players teed up for the annual Hawkins Insulation Macmillan Cancer Support Golf Day at the beautiful Kendleshire Golf Club. The day was packed with laughs, some seriously impressive shots (and a few that won’t be spoken about again!), and plenty of friendly competition. Highlights included:
- Longest Drive: Mark Bence sent the ball flying down the fairway to claim bragging rights.
- Closest to the Pin: Paul Leighton and Matt Legg showed off their precision skills.
- Yellow Ball Comp: Team Bence took home the honours.
- Mens Player of the Day: Lewis Jones, racking up an incredible 41 points.
- Ladies Player of the Day: Katie Hawkins, steady and stylish with 34 points.
- Overall Team Winners: Team Stockham, topping the leaderboard with a fantastic 98 points.
The day wasn’t just about golf – together we raised an incredible £4,700 in memory of Keith Hawkins. Every penny will go to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping them continue their amazing work providing care, comfort, and practical support to people and families affected by cancer. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make such a positive difference.
